About the Opportunity
We are actively seeking passionate, dedicated individuals to join the New Summit Charter Academy Board of Directors. As we work to strengthen and diversify our board, a recent review of current members’ backgrounds and gap analysis has highlighted particular value in candidates with experience in the following areas (including but not limited to):
• Government relations and public policy
• Contract and legal matters
• Strong community engagement
Application Timeline & Process (Now Closed)
• Board Interest Meeting: February 24, 2026, 4:30–5:15 PM MST
• Application Opens: March 2, 2026, at 3:00 PM MST
• Application Closes: March 13, 2026, at 3:00 PM MST
Application Requirements
Applicants were asked to prepare and submit the following:
• Current resume
• Three professional references
• Disclosure of any current or recent involvement with other boards, committees, businesses, or non-profits
• Disclosure of all active public social media platforms
• Schedule a school tour with the Executive Director (contact Tara Jennings at tara.jennings@newsummitcharter.org)
• Attend 1–2 board meetings as an observer (available dates: March 10, April 14, 2026)
• Review the NSCA Board of Directors Agreement (link provided in application)
Next Steps
• Finalists will be notified by email no later than May 1, 2026
• In-person interviews will take place during the regular board meeting on May 12, 2026
• Selected candidates must complete an FBI background check prior to official appointment (cost: $56; instructions and employer code provided in offer letter)
• The new board member will be officially seated at the June 2026 board retreat (date to be determined)
